 Arcade racing with ATVs January 2, 2009
This game surprised me. I didn't expect it to be instantly fun, but it was. The racing style is SSX like, except better. You perform tricks to gain points while you race. And the tricks are outrageous and cool to perform. If you play with other people, you'll be screaming, "Ohhhhhhhh!", when you or others miss the insane tricks.
Another thing that surprised me was the graphics. I haven't been impressed by graphics for a long time. This game actually got me excited enough to call some of my friends over so that they could check out the graphics. The lighting, detail and environments are great to look at.
Even if you think this isn't your cup of tea, at least try the demo.

we had never really given this type of game a chance before. it was a lot of fun....easy to play yet challenging...easy to just pick up and just go go go. pure fun...pure adrenaline....pure action

First I want to say, as a gamer, I suck. That said, I still have a lot of fun playing video games. I started back when the Atari 2600 was NEW. I've been at this for a long time. My preferences for games tend to lean to first person shooters and driving games. That's where Pure comes in.
Pure is an off road ATV based stunt and race game. In addition to just driving against others, offline and online. You get bonuses and added score for performing stunts and tricks. Your goal is to get airborne whenever possible and spin yourself around and contort in all sorts of positions. This is way cool and again, I suck! But boy, howdy. It sure looks good when you get it right and land a trick. Mostly I wind up crashing. The game takes that into account and gets you back on the track and away you go. In some online and other circumstances if you crash too much it's game over and you "sit" on the sidelines and watch your opponents finish the race.
The game starts you off with basic equipment and personalities to race. As you progress and accomplish some victories or at least finish some races, you earn points/money to unlock better vehicles and racers. This is common in this type of race game and is done well here. Another aspect of this game is the quality of the graphics and sound. They are some of the best of any off road game I've seen. This game is stunning. The play action is also top notch. There are no major faults in this game at all. If you're into driving games this will not disappoint. It's one of the best out there.

I need a game that you can have multiple players on one console. This is not it. I was let down.
